When Toronto-based artist Ray Cicin heard some graphic designer friends disparaging the humble ballpoint pen set about collecting all of their discarded pens and using them to create a tentacular masterpiece. This awesome blue octopus was inspired by a famous cephalopod lithograph created by German naturalist Ernst Haeckel in 1904 for his book Art Forms in Nature:
